Standard procedure of sound-covering of a school event
The
need of using sound - equipment is a common issue in everyday
school - life. The sound - covering of a school event is
a complicated matter. Teachers are responsible for that,
although they are not proper educated. The following guide
will try to help these kind of situations by showing standard
microphone - techniques, how to use the equipment and how
to record.

A cross-subject approach for the teaching of a musical
instrument - Ballade in C minor (no.15) for piano, Burgmuller
The
Greek education community, through the intent to teach a
musical instrument, is mainly based on older teaching methods,
which provide a negatively image of expression on music
performance. A basic disadvantage is the performing, while
looking from the sheet of music and not by memorizing, which
results a "mechanic", without musicality, performance.
I suggest a teaching and also studying method which shows
the student how to confront successfully the study of music.
This method has been tested on many students of various
ages and music levels and showed very positive results on
technique, on musicality, and in general the interest and
confidence of the student. This method is presented through
the Ballad in C minor (no.15), Burgmuller.

Music and Environment - Using recyclable material to
make musical instruments
The
following project applies the 3rd and 4th grade of primary
education and it aims to raise awareness regarding environmental
issues through the music lesson. As it suggests, this can
be achieved by using recyclable material to make musical
instruments and by composing and performing musical pieces
which focus on the environment.

Singing words
This
article is based on a new publication, titled Singing words:
from theory to practice. Its main area of interest is the
so - called singing language: vocal sounds, everyday words,
proverbs, children songs and rhymes, poetic passages are
used for the development of rhythm, creativity, kinesthesia,
vocal dexterities and melody. This article is divided in
two parts: the first part is concerned in a theoretical
level with the relationship between music and language whilst
the second part presents some practical examples of the
use of language in the music classroom.
