I was recording w/ a very old friend in his incredible home studio (ProTools) He likes the way I fingerpick the guitar & the songs I've shared.
I became increasingly fascinated w/ the piano every time my friend would add piano tracks to the songs. I decided I wanted to teach myself enough to play at least one song; to have one song learned well enough to play in front of anybody w/ out screwing up.
Of course, that was easier said than done, since I didn't really know anything about the piano except about where middle C was. Fast forward 2 years and I have accomplished more than the one song. I can even play a little boogie woogie. (I bought an instruction video)
I am constantly amazed by the dynamic range of the piano, it's oh so logical layout, no need for electronic whatever, and the fact that I can sit down to play in public! (I have played several Gallery openings in my area, concentrating on just the keyboard, no singing.)
It is a late learned joy, as I'm nearing 60, but, like my friend says, "What else are you going to do w/ your life?"
I like it so much now that I rarely pick up the guitar anymore, even when friends ask me to.
I don't have any videos yet (no web cam) but when I do I'd be proud to share them with you all.
