What an excellent, clear, well thought out, well expressed, well laid out site for beginners of which I am one, aged 78.

No laughing!

6 months of private lessons under my fingers now! My very nice teacher tells me to stop laughing and talking during the lessons and I tell him to stop humming along while I am trying to play my pieces.

I still have a floating rt.hand pinky though, which is very annoying but can now play the proper edition of Fur Elise with lots of extraneous nasties included, hehehehe and love playing the Hanon exercises - :) My favourite pianists - Georgy Cziffra, Radu Lupu, Nicolai Angelich. They won't be getting any competition from me.
