Right Hand Cross Over and One-Note Extension in Little Spring Song

In John Thompson’s First Grade book in the piece titled "Little Spring Song" (p. 34-35) I don’t understand the RH over toward the end. I also don’t understand what a one-note extension is.

Hi There,
A one note extension usually means that you'll go "one note" outside the 5 finger position. So you'll have to stretch slightly one of the fingers. In this piece you'll do just that when you play the left hand finger 5 on F#.

The right hand crosses over the left hand in this piece towards the end and plays the bass notes E and A.
